MY STORY
Kaye Jernigan is a passionate writer, filmmaker, and educator who uses her life experiences to entertain, educate, and serve others. Kaye is the founder of Afikay Media, Inc. Afikay’s mission is to transform lives through producing media content that challenges the status quo by uplifting marginalized voices, advocating for women working in the screen industries, and building connections through powerful stories.

As a writer and producer, Kaye leveraged her nearly 20 years of professional education experience and experience in the creative arts industry to develop into a purpose driven creative artist who believes in community, capacity building, and edutainment. Her experiences have helped her create the quintessential intersectional skill set that has allowed Kaye to produce multiple independent projects, write and serve as a writing consultant for independent artists, and helps develop content and performing arts curriculum.

In addition to her own development as a creative artist, Kaye Jernigan is committed to helping change the entertainment industry to achieve parity, expand inclusivity, and diversify leadership. Through a strategic partnership with ORI Reel Entertainment and Afikay Media, Kaye will help open doors for creative artists to showcase their unique voices by means of storytelling, awareness, and artistic equity and access.
